Belgrade, Serbia
Located on the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, Belgrade (Beograd) is the capital of Serbia which lies at the heart of the Eastern gateway from Europe to Asia. With a history dating back as far as the Vinca culture of the 6th Miillenium BC, it can reasonably be said that to know the history of Belgrade is to know the history of Europe.
From Roman times as Singidunum, through the days of the Ottoman Empire and right into the present, Serbia and Belgrade have always been at the forefront of European culture and trade. With tourist numbers and investment increasing year on year, that is no less true today.

As a photographer I think of each photo as a single moment in a greater whole. Each photo tells a story, each story creates another photo. The images contained within this site can therefore only ever be considered a small reflection of the life and history of one of Europe's most cosmopolitan cities. Belgrade is a historical city, but it is also a modern city, a vibrant city, and a city filled with life and culture. It has given me a great deal and through my photography I hope I give at least a little back.
